Maize (Lancaster, PA)

It’s been too long since I have reviewed a new Mexican spot and I forgot how much I love Mexican food LOL! Lia and I went to Maize and here is the review!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: This cantina style spot has indoor, outdoor and bar seating! It has a rustic cantina vibe with wooden tables, booths and chairs! It’s a great setting for dates, girls nights or for the whole family!

Drinks/Cocktails: You know I had to order a House Margarita and it was a 10/10! They have a full menu of drinks and several different types of margarita’s. Click here to see the full drink menu!

Menu: A fairly big menu with a variety of options. As expected, I had a hard time deciding. But they start you off with chips and salsa, so you won’t be starving while you wait! The salsa is delicious and chunky. But still good! I decided to start with the buffalo chicken empanadas, 9/10. They were cheesy with the perfect balance hot sauce and served with a house made salsa ranch this paired so perfect!

I was back and forth on what to order and I contemplating ordering one of the combinations, since I couldn’t decide. But then last minute decision I ordered the street tacos. They were on corn tortillas (my favorite) and I picked pork as my protein! They were delicious and flavorful. I give them a 8.5/10! Click here to check out their full menu.

Tips/Recommendations: We went for an earlier dinner on a Sunday, but they can get busy, specially during their happy hour. We have made reservations before when going at the peak busy times! The empanadas are a must order, and if you like tacos, they are definitely worth a try!
