Ever get a craving for brownies, but do not have a premix box? Well Casey and I did, so we attempted to make them from scratch. Taste wise they were delicious. But note to all, make sure you have a cake/brownie pan, as a deep dish pan is not favored LOL.
Here is what you need: 2 sticks butter, melted, 1 ½ cups white sugar, 1 ½ cups brown sugar, 1 tbsp. vanilla, 4 eggs, 1 ½ cups flour, 1 cup cocoa powder, 1 tsp. salt, ½ tsp baking soda and chocolate chips.

Preheat the oven to 350 and grease a 9×13 pan (not a loaf or deep dish pan LOL). In one bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. In a second bowl, combine the sugars and butter until creamy. Then add the vanilla and eggs (one at a time). Once combined, stir in the dry ingredients. Then fold in the chocolate chips (we do not measure these LOL). Add the batter to the pan and bake about 35-40 minutes.

Since we used a deep dish, it took much longer to bake and they got really puffy. But taste wise they were perfect. Next time around, we will use the correct pan haha. Do you have a scratch brownie recipe we should try next? Comment below!
