Fox Meadows (Ephrata, PA)

Another mommy-daughter date at one of our favorite spots, Fox Meadows Creamery. Delicious homemade ice cream, but just as delicious food menu. It’s not in the closest ice cream spot, but every time we go, it is SOOO worth it!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Lots of updates since they first opened, but this place is great for the whole family. There are many tables inside to sit at, but there is also a porch with added seating (enclosed and heated in the winter months), plus outside seating around their playground. They get very busy and have a steady flow of customers, so all their seating does fill up! The staff are always super friendly, welcoming and helpful when you do not know what to order!

Drinks: They have fountain drinks, bottle drinks and a variety of café drinks. Naturally mom and I had to try a seasonal drink. Mom ordered the Rose & lavender winter fog (10/10). Not too sweet but the perfect balance of rose and lavender. I ordered the toasted marshmallow mocha. It was deliciously chocolatey – but not sweet. It has the perfect kick of caffeine and the toast marshmallows on the top complete the drink perfectly.

Menu: So let’s start with their food menu – there is no bad item to order! This time around mom and I both ordered the Mushroom Swiss Toasted Cheeseburger with chips (I didn’t have Swiss on mine LOL). But then we ordered a side of French fries to share. Their fries are delicious, fresh cut, perfectly fried and salted! But like I said, there is no bad order on the menu. I love that they offer a pick two option with a salad, soup and/or sandwich. Their burgers are always delicious and make sure you check the specials or seasonal offerings. One of my favorite salads is the quesadilla and blackened chicken salad and it is a pick two offering. They have delicious tomato soup, chili and broccoli cheddar soup.  I have also had their avocado toast and ham and cheese pretzel melt. Everything gets a 10/10. Click here to see the full menu.

But you cannot go to fox meadows and not leave without having ice cream or taking it with you. They have traditional flavors, some signature favorites and seasonal options! Not sure what flavor you want, ask for tasting to be sure you will like it. Order the sampler which is 4 mini scoops so you can taste more than one. I love to order the milkshakes, what mom and I both ordered this time around. The medium comes with 3 scoops and you can pick whatever combination you want. I chose the espresso cookie dough, tandy cake and chocolate peanut butter bliss. Another great item to order is the baked fox. It is a toasted cookie, cake or seasonal treat sandwiched around your choice of ice cream. They are huge so make sure you are hungry or going to share with someone else.

Tips/Recommendations: You definitely want to try their food menu, but they only serve it at lunch time. So it gets very busy. Try and go as close to opening time as you can, because the line can get long and the tables will fill up quickly. Bring a group to save your table and order at the counter. The good news is the ice cream is available all day long! I would definitely recommend ordering a sampler so you can taste as many flavors as possible. Mom and I have both ordered the sampler ordering 8 different flavors to taste all the yummy flavors. I also definitely recommend the baked fox, but only order it when you go just for ice or you are sharing with someone else – they are big and filling! And as always, try something new every time you go!

  1. As Maria says this place has never been a disappointment. Have never had anything I didn’t like either. My favorite is the lavender ice cream. I get this all the time. Go and try it. You’ll love it 🙂
