Chinese Green Beans

Does anyone else love the green beans from Chinese restaurants/buffets? I wanted to try to recreate my own version – it turned out pretty good. I mean, I am about to share the recipe with you, so definitely would recommend giving it a try!

Started by trimming the ends off 1 lb. of French green beans. I then chopped up some onions and 4 cloves of garlic. I heated oil in wide and deep pan. Once heated, add the onions and garlic. Cook for a few minutes stirring to make sure they do not burn. Then toss in the green beans. I then seasoned with salt, white and black pepper. After another 5 minutes, I added about 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tbsp. oyster sauce, 2 tbsp. soy sauce and 1 tbsp. of rice vinegar.  Continue to toss and simmer to combine the sauce and coat all the green beans. I like to keep the beans crunchy, because no one likes soggy green bean. I tasted the sauce to make sure nothing else needed to be added. I sautéed them another few minutes and then they were ready.

I think next time I can definitely add more garlic and maybe some ginger. What is your favorite way to eat green beans?
