Maggiano’s (King of Prussia)

Italian is one of the best comfort foods. Who doesn’t enjoy pasta. Recently picked my parents from the airport after their 2 week trip out west. They didn’t have pasta at all those two weeks, so it was the perfect welcome home pick for food. I decided we should go to one of my favorite places, Maggiano’s. My parents have not been to one before, so they were in for a real treat.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: The location at KOP has a variety of seating, on their patio, upstairs and at the bar. We sat at a high top table at the bar. The bartender was our server and she was a sweetheart. Their tables have the red and white checker table clothes, gives you some vibes from Lady and the Tramp dinner seen! But it’s also a great family atmosphere!

Cocktails/Drinks: Another place that offers a variety of cocktails, wines and beers. We all opted for some beer and it was a refreshing on a summer afternoon. But other times I have had their cocktails and wine in the past. They were delicious and I would get them again! Click here to see all their drinks.

Menu: Maggianos gives you bread and olive oil. It is the perfect appetizer (since they were out of the calamari we were thinking of ordering). Our server was so sweet and brought more bread out for us. May have eaten too many pieces before our entrees came out, but oh well! We all ordered pasta, and the best part about Maggianos, is they offer $5 take home dishes when you ordered an entrée. So we took advantage of that as well.

Mom and I ordered the Shrimp Cacio e Pepe, but mom swapped out the spaghetti for linguine (9/10). It was peppery but balanced well with the cheese and arugula. The shrimp was big and plentiful! Dad ordered the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo (8/10). We could not finish our entrees, but they made the perfect leftovers. Our $5 take home meals we ordered spaghetti and meatballs, baked ziti and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Great to have a couple meals and take a break from cooking! We did not have room for dessert this time, but we will be back and make sure we save room this time. I am also dying to try their brunch. The menu looks delicious and it is on my must tries in the near future! To check out more of Maggiano’s menu click here!

Tips/Recommendations: Try not to fill up on the bread and olive oil. I know it’s so hard. Maybe look at the menu when you know you are going, so you can order right away. Maybe if your food comes out faster, you will not eat too much bread. If you love pasta as much as we do. then definitely order one! I recommend ordering one of the specialty/seafood entrees, because the $5 take home options are all the classics. So you can still taste one for those if you are debating between they many options. If you plan to go on a weekend, or busy evening/holiday, you may want to call and see if you can make a reservation. As always, try something new every time you go.
