Cinco de Mayo is a great excuse to go out for margaritas and Mexican food! Andy and my co-ed soccer team had a game, but I told him after, let’s get some Mexican food to celebrate the holiday! Our team won our game, so all the more reason to have go out for a celebratory meal! We decided to go to one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants, El Gran Rodeo.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: The inside has beautiful Mexican decor. They have a bar and TV’s around the restaurant. It can be a great place to watch a game! They had live music on Cinco de Mayo and it gave a great vibe. They also have outdoor patio seating for those warmer weather days to come!
Cocktails/Drinks: For Cinco de Mayo we had to order margaritas. But honestly, they have a great selection and huge variety of margaritas, you can not go wrong ordering one of them. My favorite one to order is the blue margarita and I usually get the jumbo size😆. Andy ordered a Corona-rita. Rating for all their margaritas would be 10/10. They also have a variety of beers, draft and bottles as well as other cocktails! This is a great bar for just drinks, chips and salsa or drinks and a full meal!
Menu: Chips and salsa are given to every customer and the chips are homemade. We went through our first basket pretty fast and they offered a second! The second basket came out still warm, crispy and delicious! The rest of their menu is huge. Make sure you come hungry and have some idea of what you want to order because you may have a hard time.
Andy ordered a quesadilla with chicken, shrimp and steak (rating 10/10). I had a hard time deciding (like I do most times LOL) so I picked the combo with 1 taco, 1 quesadilla and 1 tamale (rating: 10/10). Everything on their menu is delicious, so you cannot go wrong ordering any of the items. Check out more of there menu here!
Tips/Recommendations: Go for just drinks and sit outside or at the bar with some chips and salsa. Try the margaritas, any one, at least once! If you cannot decide, like me, then order one of the combos. Have every one at the table order something different to share and taste a variety of their food. Lastly, as always, try something new every time you go!
