Shrimp Cheung Fun is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, item to order when at a dim sum restaurant. While doing a typical reel scroll, I found someone that did a quick cheat version with rice paper. So, I thought I would give it a try!
It was pretty easy, but first time around it didn’t stay together very well LOL. I started by setting up my bamboo steamer. First you wet the rice paper, place the shrimp and roll it up. I brushed each side to some oil so it wouldn’t stick. Then I placed in the bamboo steamer for about 8 minutes. I think it was too high/hot and 8 minutes was too long. They stuck and tore a part. I think I need to keep it at a lower/slower temperature and check it after 5 minutes. I was too into the show I was currently streaming that I didn’t really keep an eye on it lol. The reel also had a quick easy sauce that I threw together. This was full proof and delicious! Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and sugar.

Second time around, I rewatched the video and made a few changes: Lower temperature and shorter steam time. I also placed it on a plate then in the bamboo steamer, so it was easier to remove. Not as good as you can get at a dim sum restaurant but it was a good at home quick dupe! Though, I think I may just leave it to the restaurants lol.
