We ordered crabs for Father’s day, which mean left over crab meat. Usually I will use it for mac and cheese or sometimes stuffed mushrooms. But this time, I decided to try and make some crab cakes.
I added my lump crab meat (that yes, I picked out of the shells myself) to a large bowl. To that I added salt, black pepper, white pepper, old bay, blackened season and parsley. I then added chopped red onion, shredded parmesan, 1 egg and some mayo. I mixed this all together. Unlike my chicken salad, I didn’t want it too wet. I wanted just enough mayo for it to stick together. I then pan fried each side to golden brown.

For my first time making them, I think they turned out pretty good. I would make them again, but I think I will also try and find other recipes to use crab meat. If you have a favorite one you like to make – comment below!
