Applesauce Raisin Cake

I have eaten Apple Sauce Raisin Cake, but never made it. I asked mom for the family recipe and then I gave it whirl!

What you need: 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. cinnamon, ½ tsp. nutmeg, ½ tsp. cloves, 2 tsp. baking soda, 1 cup raisins, ½ cup butter melted and 2 cups apple sauce.

Preheat the oven to 350 and grease a 9×9 baking pan.  Combined all ingredients in a stand mixer. I did not have cloves, so I added an extra dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Once it was blended well I decided to add more raisins (because I felt like there was not enough). Then add the batter to the pan. (Again I added more raisins, because it didn’t look like enough LOL.) Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.

It came out pretty delicious. I think next time I want add a bit more apple sauce, as I felt like it was a bit too dry and see if cloves make a difference. Do you have an apple sauce recipe I should try next?
