Max’s (Lancaster, PA)

You need a brunch option before a show in Lancaster?  Then Max’s is the place to choose! (even if the show ends up being canceled last minute). I had been here once before, but really only to enjoy boozy milkshakes and fries. So I was excited to come back and try more of the menu!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Max’s gives a dinner vibe but with a modern twist! There are tables and booths, seats by the window and a bar! The day we happened to go have live music which was a great surprise! The staff was awesome! Our server, Sean made the experience!

Drinks: Besides milkshakes (both boozy and not), they have an assortment of brunch cocktails and hot drinks as well as other cocktails. Around the table we had a variety of mimosa’s (cranberry, guava and passion fruit) as well as a bloody Mary and Maria (with tequila). All were so yummy and served in fun glasses. Don’t be fooled, the schooner mimosa is big – but delicious. (Note to self: make sure food is in the stomach first LOL).

Menu: I do not even know where to begin on their menu. I mean it probably took mom and I easier 30 minutes to decide what to order. It is a big menu with lots of different options. Honestly you can’t go wrong with anything you order. We did order a variety of items around the table including: chicken and waffles, smash burger salad, patty melt, classic bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, sweet potato hash and a side of mac and cheese. Mom ordered the barbacoa torta with bacon cheese brussel sprouts on the side. 10/10. The beef was tender and juicy and it had a great spicy kick!

I ordered the Buford van stomm sando. A 10/10 breakfast sandwich, So tasty with the sausage patter and cheese omelet! But of course I needed tots on the side and they were perfectly crispy and delicious. When I say this is only a small glimpse of their menu, I am not lying! Click here to explore the menu more! I cannot wait to go back and try something new!

Tips/recommendations: If you plan to go, especially with a bigger group, then make a reservation! We did for a group of 8 and it was perfect! If it’s only a couple of you, then sit at the bar for a fun dining experience! Have the people in your party all order something different for sharing! MILKSHAKES are a must order. Any of their potatoes (all ways) are also a must order as well. And as always, try something new every time you go.
