Just when I think am catching up posts, summer comes and leaves with all the fun things and recipes… and here I am, behind again! The start of the summer we celebrated the beautiful bride to be (but now a wife lol) with a weekend in Lancaster. I was able to revisit some favorites like Double C (the pork belly’s is still fire, oh and the margs are still bomb!). Our first activity for the weekend was at Gallery Grow on Queen St.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: This cute little plant shop provides relaxation and creativity in one! Staff are friendly, patient and super helpful. You can purchase plants, make your own planters or terrariums. The whole second floor is a full studio with tons of options.

Menu: You go upstairs, and you can pick your terrarium. They have a variety of sizes, styles, and shapes. Each note the price, the number of plants it can fit so you can plan accordingly. They have two varieties of plants, I went with the succulents as they were to be lower maintenance and only needed water every 4-6 weeks. (Though I will tell you 3 of my 4 succulents died already. Clearly, I do not have a green thumb). You get to pick you terrarium and then your plants. Then you set up at the table to start your creation. The staff let you know how to start with great recommendations, then you have endless options of fund things to make it your own. Some cost extra, but most of are included. You have a variety of stones, sand, moss, creatures and more! I, of course, added mushrooms and a cat!

Tips/Recommendations: It definitely worth a visit. Even if you just check out the shop and get one house plant! I think this is a great activity for groups, date nights or families! You do not have to make a reservation as they take walk ins. I did make a reservation for us, as I wanted to make sure we had a table and I didn’t know how busy they would be on a Saturday. However, we did have to pay an additional $25 for the table reservation. Of course we were the only ones there, so we could have gotten away with just walking in. So keep that in mind when you plan! Plan for carpooling as well! This block of Queen St. is metered, but only a couple blocks away is not metered. And as always, try something new every time you go.
