When a cute French Café opens next to the nail salon… mom and I have to check it out! I can’t wait to go back to Matine’s Café Market!
Ambiance/Atmosphere: This small café is located on the mail line right between Devon and Wayne. They have glass windows in the front that just brighten up the whole café. The décor is very chic and French inspired! They have the café set up with seating right but the front windows, a pastry display counter, and a market corner. Staff are so friendly and helpful when you can’t decide what you want to order. The chef even delivered our food to our table herself! They are there to give the top service! It is the perfect café for a get together, or a quiet spot to do some work and enjoy a drink and pastries!

Drinks: As a café, they a full variety of coffees, teas and more! I opted to order a special (before they are gone) and went with the peppermint mocha. I love the blue cup and saucers they serve the drinks in. I also appreciate that they gave a mini spoon because it came in handy towards the bottom to make sure all the chocolate doesn’t settle. I have also gotten a lavender hot chocolate to go before. Though, not in a fun cup, it was delicious and calming all at the same time. I don’t think you go can wrong with any of their drinks.

Menu: The have a full pastry display of options both sweet and savory! They also have a menu of breakfast and lunch items. I love all the pastry items I have tried. The apple turnover was delicious, but I liked the chocolate croissant way more! They both were the perfect balance of buttery, flaky and sweet! When mom and I went for breakfast, we ordered two items to share. A co-worker mentioned their quiche was the best they had, so we ordered the quiche Lorraine and then smoked salmon tartine. The quiche had a thin but buttery and flaky crust. It was cheese with crispy bacon and was probably one of the best ones I have had! But the smoked salmon tartine was my favorite! It was a thick slice of fresh made bread, topped with a tzatziki spread, cucumber, salmon, and greens. It was fresh and a different bite from the quiche. But they were a great balance to each other. I would highly recommend the tartine; it gets a 10/10 from me. I have also had their their breakfast truffle sandwich on a bagel and the salmon on a baguette. Both were delicious but I loved the salmon and brie cheese combination! However, the salmon tartine is still my favorite! I think I need to try lunch next time! Tips/Recommendations: This is a definite must try spot. It’s an all-around cute café with lots of fun food and drink options! I think you must get a pastry, even if it is to go! I am excited to go back and try more. And as always, try something new every time you go!
