While out and about doing fall festive things like getting pumpkins, pumpkin pies etc. you need to stop and refuel! Four Dogs Tavern was the stop and I can’t wait to go back!
Ambiance/Atmosphere: This cute tavern gives a very homey vibe. They have a full patio, one section even enclosed with heaters and a fireplace outside. Inside they have a full dining room as well as an upstairs and bar area. They also have an inn across the parking lot with a bar and seating. The staff are friendly and want to make sure you have top notch service. We sat in the bar area, and it was fun to be by the windows to see the patio and the food be delivered (as some is prepared in the kitchen in the inn).
Drinks: They have a full bar with a variety of options and seasonal drinks as well. To stick with the fall theme, I decided to have an apple cider margarita. It was festive and on the strong side. It was delicious, but not the best pairing with food. I think it would be a better dessert cocktail LOL. I finished with a blackberry fizz and stuck with tequila as my liquor. It was berry forward but not sweet at all. It was a delicious combination, and I would order it again!

Menu: I did not look at the menu prior to coming . Though it was not big and overwhelming, it has so many good options. They have a cream of mushroom soup, so you know I had to try it. It was topped with a sherry finish. It was creamy and smooth, a very earthy and heart-warming soup. I missed the chunks of mushrooms, but it was worth every bite! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat, but our server helped me select the chicken BLT on a pita. It was a delicious grilled chicken topped with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. I was hoping it would be more inside the pita like a sandwich, but it was more open faced. It made it a bit more difficult to eat, but it was so good. They had it topped with a homemade basil mayo. The bacon was extra crispy and flavorful. It was a fun bite and gets over all a 8.5/10.

Tips/Recommendations: As always, it is worth a try! We arrived right when they opened and were seated right away. They were very busy by the time we left. If you go on the weekend, plan accordingly and make a reservation. They do have bar seating and plenty of outdoor seating as well. I think you definitely need to order the mushroom soup if you are a mushroom lover like me. If you don’t mind an open sandwich, then the chicken BLT is the way to go. But looking at the other food coming out, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options. And as always, try something new every time you go!
