Honey Sriracha Chex Mix

The last Chex mix variety with our Costco size box- Honey Siracha. I think this may have been my favorite of them all.

The ingredients: 3 cups wheat Chex, 3-4 cups rice Chex, 3-4 cups corn Chex, 1.5 cup bagel chips, 1.5 cups peanuts, 1.5 cups sesame sticks.

Sauce/Seasonings: 1 stick butter, ½ cup honey, 6 tbsp siracha sauce, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, salt, white pepper, garlic powder, Chinese five spice and umami seasoning (small dash on the last two).

The cook is much the same. Preheat the oven to 250. I add all ingredients to a large bowl this time. On the stove in a saucepan, I melted and combined the butter, honey, siracha, Worcestershire and dry seasonings. Once melted and combined, I slowly poured over the mixture continually stirring and mixing until evenly coated. This time,  I separated on two pans. Bake for 1 hr. stirring every 15 minutes. After the first 15, I felt like they were still very wet/soggy. So, I divided into 3 pans (didn’t quite fit in the oven LOL) and bumped the temperature to 300. I should have trusted the process, however. Because by the 45-minute stir, some of it was starting to burn. So, I turned it back down 250 for the last 15 minutes. Other the few burnt sections, the flavor and taste was on point! It was a fun sweet, spicy and savory combination! I would definitely make this version again as well as have fun with different ingredients – so stay tuned! If you have a favorite Chex mix I should try – comment below!
