The Hawke (Lambertville, NJ)

Lambertville was starting to become a foodie heaven! There were so many places to explore and next up was The Hawke.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: This casual steakhouse is tucked off the main street of Lambertville, but easily accessible by a short walk. It gives a modern feel but in a historic building. They have a bar, indoor seating and an outdoor patio. It was another gorgeous day so patio and sunshine time were calling! Staff were also just as great. Everything came together for a great overall experience.

Drinks: they have a full bar with beer drafts, bottles, liquor and wine. I decided to order their Mexican lager available on draft. It was the perfect drink to enjoy in the sun.

Menu: Now, the plan was to just have a few drinks. But it was nice outside and then they brought bread and butter. Let me tell you…this salted, creamy homemade butter was NEXT level amazing. There was sesame crackers and rolls offered. The rolls were still warm, straight from the oven.  But the butter paired so well with both, that I didn’t have a preference. My mouth is watering just thinking about it all. Oysters were also ordered. They were fresh and perfectly briny. Another great pairing with beer and bread and butter. There are many items on the menu, both lunch and dinner, that sound so delicious. But also the few plates (sandwich at lunch were massive) looked like they were a must try. So I definitely need to go back and try more of their menu. Click here to see more!

Tips/Recommendations: Sit at a table if you want the amazing bread and butter. But the bar is also a great spot. This is the perfect place for drinks and apps, or even a meal. Since they are steakhouse, I believe the steak needs to be tried to give a true test – again something that sounds delicious. They do take reservations! And as always, try something new every time you go!
