Neptune Diner (Lancaster,PA)

Sorry friends, just when I thought I was catching up – I fall behind all over again! More new places to share and maybe some new recipes coming your way! So, let’s set the scene for this next review…
I am at my parents’ house laying in bed after 6am hungry but unable to sleep anymore LOL. Mom sends text “do you want to go out for breakfast?” The answer is always yes, and we ended up at Neptune Diner.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Another great diner set up with the counter and tables. It has the same traditional dinner appeal with the shiny silver building/interior with bright lights. We sat at the counter and it was pretty early in the morning; it pays to be early risers and beat the crowd. Shout out to the man from Boston sitting at the counter with us as he snuck in and paid for our breakfast. A sweet gesture that helps start off a great day. The staff were just as friendly!

Drinks: A wide variety of drinks but it’s always a good cup of coffee for the diner choice. It was delicious but not too strong. Mom and made sure to get some extra caffeine later in the day!

Menu: When you always have a hard time deciding what to order, I like to see what combinations are offered so I don’t have to decided LOL. Neptune does have a few offerings and I went with the American sampler: two over easy eggs, two pancakes that I upgraded to chocolate chip, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and home fries. It was a great platter to have a little bit of everything and then some. I had left overs enough to make another breakfast later in the week! The potatoes were a great highlight rough chopped and extra crispy. I also enjoyed the sausage links. I would order again! Click here to see the whole menu.

Tips/Recommendations: When you can’t decide like me, get one of the combination platters to sample a little bit of everything. I recommend going early before the breakfast rush and sit at the counter. They also offer to-go if you are in time crunch. I would recommend anything with the home fries. And as always try something new every time you go!
