Sportsman’s Grille

Sometimes after a day of sightseeing, in the cold, you need some good wings, beer and football. Off the recommendations of our Airbnb host, Sportsman’s Grille had the best wings around. Plus it was another 6 minute drive from our Airbnb – winner winner, chicken wing dinner!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: This place was your typical sports bar. They had a huge bar, high top seating and then 2 large seating areas with more TVs and lots of sports memorabilia. We sat in the golf room, which I didn’t realize how much of a golf place Williamsburg was. So it was fun to see all the golf history in Williamsburg. Staff were very friendly. They were able to get football games on the TV and they were patient with our pace of ordering while watching the game. Plus the bar was filled with sports fans, which always makes for a fun atmosphere.

Drinks: I had margaritas earlier in the day, but knowing we were ordering wings, I ordered a nice large draft beer. Plus is was happy hour, so why not!

Menu: They had a big menu, so I was happy to have the plan of wings already decided. It made ordering a bit easier. We ordered the garlic parmesan flavor. They were meaty and garlicy. I would have liked them a bit crunchy, but then they would have been smothered so much in the garlic sauce that made them yummy. So, I think that it was still a good bite! Still a bit hungry, we looked to the happy hour menu before it ended and opted on ordering the burger sliders. They were topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and a fried onion. Another fun and delicious bar bite! I would recommend both. I think if I ever go back to Williamsburg, I do want to come back here because their menu does have so much more to offer – check it out here!

Tips/Recommendations: If you want to watch a sports game/event, this is the place to go. I think you cannot go wrong with the wings or sliders. But I will tell you the one table order the crab legs. They looked and smelled amazing! Ask your server for recommendations if you can’t decide. And as always, try something new every time you go.
