My newest toy – slushie machine. I am addicting but only just starting. It’s cold weather season now, so we have some time before we break it out again! Check out the highlight reel here!
Here is the one I bought from Amazon. To start, we used the recipe book. We went off the recommendations and honesty it gives you the best slushie. The higher the sugar helps create the slush and you also have to be careful about too much alcohol. Here’s what I’ve tried so far!
- Canned margaritas: they were around 5% and on the sweeter side so they slushed perfectly. They weren’t my favorite to begin with (because they were carbonated ew), but they were a bit better in slushie form.
- Tito’s and lemonade: the perfect summer treat. I used organic lemonade from Costco. It is higher in sugar but not overly sweet in taste. It paired perfectly with the Tito’s and was a smooth summer sip! I followed the recommended measurements because they did in fact create the best slush. I didn’t taste the Tito’s. So unknown if it wasn’t strong enough or it was the sneaky strong you need to be aware of LOL!
- Coffee Frappe: this was like a coffee and dessert in one! I had made a pot of coffee that I had stored in the fridge the day before. It was a delicious sweet afternoon treat!
- I tried a premix Bacardi punch. It was 12% and didn’t slushie well. Next time around I added some water and simple syrup and it was the perfect slushie! The keys are sugar and not too high of alcohol content lol.
Stay tune for more fun recipes – I bought ice cream powder so that is the next item to try! Just maybe once it gets warm again since this is not slushie weather LOL.
