The Boathouse (Lambertville, NJ)

I love when you stumble on a cool reel on Instagram. So you save the spot, as a must try though you probably won’t make it there. But then it’s even better when you get follow through and actually try it! Cue, The Boathouse. While scrolling (not doom-scrolling LOL) I saw this run reel highlighting The Boathouse. I thought it was so cool being in a town that I love visiting. Once the plan was to go back to Lambertville was in motion, it was the first place on my list that I wanted to check out.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Tucked back off the main road and right off from the canal, the Boathouse is in a quiet corner of Lambertville. It makes for a beautiful, scenic, and romantic walk from any part of town. Especially when you get caught in the rain, it’s like a literal romantic movie! It is a small boathouse with so much memorabilia and nautical themed décor. It is a small building with one bar that only serves drinks. It makes for a great stop to catch up with friends or just enjoy a drink. In the heat of summer, it was hot and their window units were doing as much as they could to cool things down. But it gave a nice boat house club vibe, regardless of the temperature!

Drinks: We opted to have predinner cocktails (dinner to be highlighted next). Next time, I may try after dinner cocktails (espresso martinis anyone?). I didn’t know what to order, but the server said that the margaritas were his favorite, so obviously I said yes to tequila. THEY WERE STRONG! Delicious, but very strong. I also say after dinner cocktails for next time, so you aren’t have a very strong drink before having food in your stomach.

Tips/Recommendations: Know that it is very small. They have outdoor seating, but it is not the same vibe as being inside. So, plan accordingly because they can get busy fast with limited seating inside. The drinks are strong so again plan accordingly lol. And as always, try something new every time you go!
