Molly Maguire’s (Jim Thorpe, PA)

The next fun weekend adventure of the summer was to Jim Thorpe. It was my first time there so I was ready to explore. Getting into town, meant food was the first stop. We picked Molly Maguires.

Ambiance/Atmosphere:  As you expect from your typical Irish pub, there’s lots of memorabilia on the walls, a big bar and seating. They also had an outside patio. We sat at the bar inside, and it was right around the time they opened. So it was good personal service with the bartenders, as they weren’t that busy yet.

Drinks: They have a full bar menu with beers, cocktails, wines and more! I ordered a blue moon, nothing special and not as cold as I wanted it to be lol. After the meal, “for dessert” I ordered a pickle back shot with Jameson. A great way to finish a meal LOL!

Menu: The menu had bar food and some Irish staples. I ordered the black and blue burger. It had a good, blacked season crust top with some blue cheese. It was a good combination with crispy and salty fries. I was hungry and it hit the spot. But I wouldn’t say that it was the best burger I had. But I did eat it all – I was very hungry and it wasn’t that bad lol.

Tips/Recommendations: Overall it was a good bar food stop. Nothing amazing or over the top. I would recommend you stop more for the history and a drink rather then the food. And as always, try something new every time you go.
