The Woodlands at Phillips Farm (Kennett Square, PA)

As a mushroom lover, Kennett Mushroom Festival is always a fun event to attend. But did you know you can enjoy the love of mushrooms any time?! The Woodlands at Phillips Mushroom farms has a wide variety of mushrooms to buy as well as all things mushrooms.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: This cute little shop, just look s like a farmhouse in the middle of the countryside. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and fed right into our mushroom loving hearts. They offered samples of jarred portabellas and mushroom coffee. Explained what new products they had and what sale items were available. It felt like you were at a family or friends’ house; just very inviting.

Options: Inside there is a full list of variety of fresh mushrooms to buy, other food items like mushroom jerky, pasta, dips, coffee and more. We decided to buy a variety of items. First were the fresh mushrooms, there was a variety box that included shitake, portabellas, porcinis and another oyster variety. Thanks to food network shows, we also had to get some maitake! We also came home with the jarred portabellas we tasted, a tapenade and mushroom fettuccine. Of course I needed some merch like a fun mushroom pin! We regretted not getting the coffee we tasted; so that will be a definite buy next time!

Tips/Recommendations: Phillips has a stand at the mushroom festival that you can check out yourself. But I do think it is worth a stop by the Woodlands, especially if you love mushrooms! They are not open on Sundays, holidays nor later in the evening. So, check out their hours and plan accordingly. And as always, try something new every time you go!
