The Colonial Theatre (Phoenixville, Pa)

Ambiance/Atmosphere: The Colonial Theatre is located in the heart of Phoenixville and is famous for being a site in the sci-fi movie, The Blob. It is one of the oldest theatres still operating. We bought tickets for a music event. But they also do have two screen rooms as well. They have tried to keep the original feel as much as possible. It gives a great community feel to celebrate the arts! We saw Blackmore’s Night, Ritchie Blackmore’s renaissance band. It was a great show. The theatre gave it an intimate feel with the audience, and it would more interactive than most concerts. I think seeing any live music performance in the main theatre is worth it!

Drinks/Concessions: As a theatre, they have your basic concessions of popcorn, candy, snacks and sodas. But they also had a bar with bottled drinks and drafts! It has something for everyone. I had to order a popcorn and soda for a full theatre experience. I loved that they had a butter station for you to make it as buttery as you want. I think it would make for a great place to see a movie – so that may be next time!

Tips/Recommendations: It definitely worth a visit in the main theatre to get the full historical theatre experience! But I do think it will be enjoyable to just see a movie. The concessions are basic, but Phoenixville has a lot to offer – so, dinner out is recommended! Plan out your options, as well as parking options before you go! And as always, try something new every time you go!
