After some fun little shopping mom and I were ready for some lunch and we wanted some Mexican. Bar Taco was the selection and I am counting down the times until I get to go back.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: For a Saturday afternoon, it was very busy. So, plan accordingly. We sat at the bar, which was busy as well. The staff were great. They have a paper ordering system that you can fill out all that you want and place the card up when you’re ready for staff to put your order through. Even with how busy they were, they made so to check in as much as possible. They have plenty of seating and even outdoor seating. I think that it would be great summer spot!
Drinks: They have quite a few drinks, beers on taps and some tequila flights. We asked the bartender what she recommended, and we decided to go with the original margarita. It was crisp, tart and refreshing with every sip. It was one of my favorite margaritas to date!
Menu: We came for two reasons, guac and tacos lol. We started with the gauc and ordered a large. It was a nice size for the two of use, but if your party is bigger, I would recommend ordering more than one order lol. The bartender mentioned that their tacos are 2-3 bites in size and they recommend order 3-5 tacos per person. So we went with five tacos. After my first five I was still hungry, and I wanted to taste more so I ordered two more! All were good, but some better than others. Here is what I ordered in order of best taco (the must orders): pork belly, tuna, sesame ribeye, fried oyster, mushroom, chorizo and chili lime shrimp. The shrimps were tiny and I felt like the chili-lime sauce was too over powering. That would probably be the only one I don’t order again. But the pork belly is a must order – it was my favorite.
Tips/Recommendations: Saturday was packed, so plan accordingly. You can add yourself to the waitlist online! Sitting at the bar was fun! But the seats were not that comfy. So next time, I think I will select a table! I think the pork belly is a must order, but don’t’ be afraid to try them all. And as always, try something new every time you go!
