Lucky’s Coffee Shop (Wilmington, DE)

Slowly catching up here friends. But I promise you, some of these upcoming reviews are worth it! Like this one. A weekend in Wilmington means finding new spots. I love a good retro breakfast spot and Lucky’s Coffee Shop didn’t disappoint!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: As described online, this is a 60s retro diner. They have ample seating with booths and tables with bright red chairs. They also have a counter to sit at as well. Staff give you the local, family vibe regardless of if you are regular or not. Service was speedy, it made you feel like you were back in a retro movie-like diner!

Drinks: As most diners, they have a variety of juices, soda and of courses coffee! Its not a full menu of fancy coffees, but it was a solid cup of diner joe that pair so well with breakfast food! They also have brunch cocktails and other fun drinks. I stuck with the coffee and water, but next time I may just need to order a Bloody Mary or mimosa!

Menu: They have all your traditional breakfast holiday favorites plus some fun twists a new items! I was hungry and couldn’t decide so I ordered the food baby. It was 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, hash, and pancakes. I ordered the eggs over easy and the cubed homefries. The sausages were links and were delicious with syrup and the pancakes. Pancakes were huge, as big as the plates! They were light and fluffy. It was a filling breakfast and I couldn’t finish all the pancakes, but it was delicious. I do want to go back and try more of the menu!

Tips/Recommendations: It is definitely worth a try. If you love that retro diner experience, then this is the spot. Coffee is also a must order. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the menu. They have cubed and hash potatoes, but I think the cubed are superior! And as always, try something new every time you go.
