I love surprise adventures, especially when they include food. This time around it was to Ludwigs!
Ambiance/Atmosphere: Ludwig’s is right on the corner and what looks to be a historical house (that has since been modernized). There is a nice patio/bar that sits outside and then several dining areas and a large bar inside. They offer rooms for parties/banquets etc. But it gives a modern chic but English pub style vibe. Staff are nice and the manager on duty checked on our table several times throughout our meal. They are attentive and want to give top notch service!

Drinks: They have a full bar with beer, wine, and cocktails. I was leaning towards seafood for sure, so I opted to order beer for drink – a Stella specifically. Their cocktails do sound delicious, especially the seasonal ones. So, I will need to keep that in mind for next time!

Menu: As mentioned, seafood was the prime idea. It happened to be a buck a shuck night, so oysters were ordered to start off the night! We selected blue point and Chesapeake to start. After debating the menu some more (it took a bit as I didn’t prepare and preview prior to arriving lol), I decided on steak for a surf and turf night. The steak came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Though the potatoes were not as good as Portobello’s, they were the perfect pair to go with the steak. I ordered rare and it was cooked to perfect. It became a delicious dinner bite that also paired well with my Stella! Instead of dessert another round of oysters were ordered, this time PEI. They were all so fresh, briny and salty. It nice pairing with the steak. The rest of the menu does sound good, plus seeing some of the other dishes coming out to tables does make me want to come back and try something different. Tips/Recommendations: If you are a fan of oysters, then I recommend trying on a buck-a-shuck night (though not a true buck as they are $1, $2 or $3 lol). They have a fresh selection daily and you cannot go wrong. The steak was a delicious choice, and they perfected the cook. If you are looking for a dinner time, I recommend a reservation as it was pretty busy by the time we left. And as always, try something new every time you go!
