Fourscore Beer Co. (Gettysburg, PA)

After Gettysburg Eddies, we wanted more beer to find a spot to check out. Given the name and close location, next stop was Fourscore Beer Co.

Ambiance/Atmosphere: This was another great brew pub style place. They have the tradition pub style ordering where you go to the bar and order get a number if you want food etc. But it was busy spot. The staff were great in helping to guide your selections. It was a very welcoming environment. But it was busy. A popular spot for after Saturday sporting events. They also have a large outdoor patio. Though, it was a rainy day so inside was popping!

Drinks: They do not allow samples of beer so I opted for a flight. It was a fun way to taste a variety of their beers. I selected the house pilsner, Gettys Brau, the hopped larger, Frogger lager, and the two sours: Jahmba Pineapple Crème Brulee and Soft Swerve Terpy Swervie. The house pilsner was a okay beer. I don’t think there was anything special about it but it was an easy drink. Frogger lager I was not a fan and would not order that again LOL. Both sours were very interesting but also delicious. The Jahmba was a heavily fruited sour so it was a bit thicker. But it literally tasted like pineapple crème brulee. I couldn’t believe how fruit forward it was but still sweet and creamy like crème brulee. The Terpy Swervie was another heavily fruited ice cream sour with rainbow sherbet. It was much thicker, but again very flavor forward. I like the flavor of this one more and it was almost like drinking dessert. Though both were delicious, I was glad I got the sample and the smaller glass. I don’t think I could have sat there and drank just a full glass of one. Because of this, round two I decided to try the cocktails LOL. They were just as delicious, but drank way easier haha. I had to make sure I didn’t drink too fast.

Menu: They have a decent food selection. But I did not venture to this. It’s a reason to stop back and try some of their food!

Tips/Recommendations: Try it, especially a nice day that you can be outside on their patio. I recommend the flight. They have a variety of beers that are interesting and I feel like the smaller size was a good way to go and get a sample. However, the cocktail was just as good, so I don’t think you can go wrong there either! We sat by the merch shelf and they have a wide selection and many colors. I loved the logos they had too. It was a fun souvenir for the weekend so I think you should check out the merch as well! And as always, try something new every time you go!
