Anthony’s (Malvern, PA)

Mommy daughter days always include food. We were in the mood for pasta, but wanted something close and somewhere we have never been. That’s when we found Anthony’s in Malvern!

Ambiance/Atmosphere: Anthony’s is located in a small strip but it still pretty spacious. They have a full bar, plenty of seating plus a separate take out entrance if you are in a grab and go scenario.

Drinks: Full bar options with seasonal specials! But this time around we just enjoyed water on a water evening.

Menu: We had one main item on the brain, pasta. But they did start us off with a bread variety basket with olive oil! We had Italian bread and a focaccia style bread. Both were warm, soft and delicious dipped in olive oil. Then we also wanted to try the calamari for appetizer.  It was lightly breaded and salted, served with a marina sauce. It was a great starter but hard to not fill up the appetizer before our pasta arrived.

Mom decided to do a create your own pasta. She ordered linguine, with pink sauce and one meatball and one sausage. The pasta was fresh and pair so well with the pink sauce. The meatballs and sausage were both very good, but personally I like Fellini’s better. However, I think it is a great option to offer create your own pasta! I Ordered the pasta al fungi. The rigatoni was the perfect noodle to absorb the creamy demi-glaze mushroom sauce. The topping of fresh arugula and goat cheese create the most perfect freshness balance for the dish. I decided to add grilled chicken for added protein. They mixed it in with the sauce and pasta which I thought was a great idea. The flavor from the sauce created the perfect bite.

The pasta plates were a full dinner size so we had left overs, but also because we wanted to save room for dessert. When we asked for the dessert, our waitress said she would bring around the dessert tray. I didn’t take a picture of it, but they literally had a tray of options for the night. Some of which are the normal menu options, others that were special and not always offered day to day. We decided to order the cannoli cake. Which was the best of two worlds: mini cannolis on top of a cannoli cake. The cake was moist, bot rich and the filling between the layers was cannoli cream. Full menu is here!

Tips/Recommendations: Number 1 tip, is Anthony’s is a MUST try. Even if you just do take out. Take-out bins with the aluminum bins, which made reheating in the over easy and still very delicious! The calamari is a must order and I would say any of their pasta. The pasta al fungi was my favorite of the night and gets an 11/10. And as always, try something new every time you go.
